Biogents Launches the AERO TRAP and AERO TRAP PLUS – A New Generation of Mosquito Traps for Sustainable and Highly Effective Mosquito Control
March 31, 2026 – As the Asian tiger mosquito continues to spread across France and its active season becomes increasingly longer, effective mosquito control is becoming a growing priority for homeowners, businesses, and public authorities alike.

A Redesigned Look for Better Garden Integration and an Improved User Experience
AERO TRAP and AERO TRAP PLUS are the only mosquito traps on the market that can operate either with or without CO₂. They are based on the same proven technology as the BG-Mosquitaire, launched by Biogents more than ten years ago and currently the number one mosquito trap in specialist garden and DIY retail channels. When combined with CO₂, the trap reduces mosquito bites by up to 87% and captures five times more mosquitoes.
Building on this proven technology, the new traps have been completely redesigned to further enhance the user experience. Both AERO TRAP and AERO TRAP PLUS feature a more contemporary design with rounded contours and a discreet black finish, allowing them to blend naturally into gardens and outdoor living spaces.
The redesign also reflects Biogents’ continued commitment to sustainability. The traps are manufactured in Germany, where Biogents was founded, and contain up to 95% recycled plastic.
Several practical improvements further simplify day-to-day use. The traps now feature a larger, rigid capture basket that is both more robust and easier to handle. Installing the attractant has also been simplified through a new contact-free insertion system, making setup cleaner and more convenient.
Another practical improvement allows users to connect up to three traps to a single power outlet, making it easier to extend mosquito protection across larger gardens.

With or Without CO₂: AERO TRAP Delivers Flexible, High-Performance Mosquito Control
AERO TRAP was developed as a highly adaptable mosquito control solution. Used on its own, it primarily targets the Asian tiger mosquito, a species that is now firmly established throughout France. Independent laboratory testing ranked AERO TRAP as the most effective mosquito trap on the market that operates without CO₂. Combined with its competitive price point, this performance gives AERO TRAP the best performance-to-price ratio in its category, reflecting Biogents’ commitment to making highly effective mosquito control accessible to as many users as possible. Biogents traps work by mimicking the natural cues mosquitoes use to locate humans, particularly human body odor. They release the insecticide-free Biogents SWEETSCENT attractant, which reproduces these scent cues and lures mosquitoes into the capture system. For protection against all mosquito species, the trap can be upgraded with the CO₂ Booster Kit, available separately or included with AERO TRAP PLUS. The booster reproduces human respiration by releasing CO₂, one of the strongest mosquito attractants. Combining human scent with CO₂ increases capture rates by a factor of five compared with operation without CO₂. The CO₂ Booster Kit is also fully compatible with previous BG-Mosquitaire models.
When connected to the MyBiogents App, users can program CO₂ release schedules to maximize efficiency. The system is also exceptionally flexible, operating with virtually all commercially available CO₂ cylinders, including standard 425 g cylinders commonly used for sparkling water makers, making replacements easy to obtain.
AERO TRAP is currently the only mosquito trap on the market that offers CO₂ as an optional upgrade, allowing users to tailor mosquito protection to their individual needs.
