Spatial repellents

Products with spatial repellent properties are supposed to repel mosquitoes before they reach their victims. Usually active ingredients are highly volatile or emitted from coils, candles, or electric vaporizers – some spatial repellents evaporate at room temperature from their carrier material.

Biogents is able to run laboratory tests of non-pyrethroid active ingredients using

• Y-tube olfactometers
• modified room tests

The efficacy of pyrethroid-based products can be evaluated in field studies during the mosquito season.
